So recently i left my studio job to focus on my own work from my little home studio.
I’ve had some amazing clients and i feel like I’m finding my niche.
I’ve also been selling vegan, organic & gluten-free cakes to a couple of cafe’s in Yorkshire, my wonderful partner is supporting me to create my own business and i havent ever felt more secure, calm and confident in my life.
I spend my days either in my studio or re-touching my work, baking and my evenings planning my little business and reading poetry.
We’re hoping to save for a little trip to Italy in a couple of months, and soon I’m going to visit my friend who’s undergoing an internship in Majorca, i have so many talented and vibrant women in my life and a man by my side.
Anyway! Below is a snippet from my recent work, the model is Laura Henney who can be found on instagram at @hennny. See the full set, the rest of my shoots over the last couple of months, live videos and offers also in instagram @alicecatherinephotography. You can also find me on www.alicecatherinephotography.com

I’m a firm believer in not telling people your plans but showing them your results but this one needs some forward planning and I’m too excited! Me and my other half are going to try out some light travelling this summer, by light travelling I mean as much as we can get by on our budget, Lisbon or Florence or the Greek Islands? We’re not quite sure, we have inspiration and lots of books. And my camera needs some colour.
I was feeling inspired earlier, partly by the wonderful new pale blonde wig i bought, and ive set up a little daylight studio in the bedroom so i had a mini self portrait shoot.
used a 50mm 1.2 lens, daylight mimic bulbs, i used the awesome app that connects my phone to my camera to get it just right too.
I found this awesome artist too who inspired me to do something like these again, more test shoots with self portraits to come before my proper shoot on the 30th with my lovely model friend Emily

Watch this space! 🙂
I’ve been so busy ive hardly had time to catch my breath, with my illness getting worse im finding it hard to stick to things i originally wanted – but my blog wont suffer, i promised myself.
Ive graduated from uni, well, not officially, the ceremony is on the 14th, im excited but also want to have it over with. I wish my attitude was different but being utterly skint has become the norm and i want that to change asap! I have a promising job interview in the next or so 🙂 we shall see.
Ive been vamping up my site, im using it as an extension to my CV, its: http://www.alicecatherinephotography.com and its the only thing thats consistent in my life at the moment.
I have a referral to see a rheumatologist (should probably learn how to spell that) and he/she is going to give me a firmer diagnosis, im pretty excited about it to be honest, finally get some secure help and proper advice – you know a nurse told me to ‘have a bath‘ instead of prescribing me the pain meds i desperately need? a fucking bath?
any way, with all the stress of moving out of my student house -(FYI, SO happy to no longer be a student, not happy to miss out on all the discount, but oh am i glad) cancelling bills, paying surprise fee’s, you know – grown up stuff. I suddenly remember that all the worries can temporarily go away while my camera is in my hand.
to whoever is reading (hi, and thankyou) but remember theres more interesting stuff on its way, reasons:
- i recently discovered Lush = hauls, reviews & photos of me smelling stuff
- i started an online shop to sell prints so ill be shamelessly plugging my work via wordpress
- alot of stuff is happening in my adult life, ill be complaining or celebrating, either way, itl be entertaining.
